We are Ed and Amy, with two young children and our border collie. We are all happiest outside. Our site is part of Ed’s working family farm which is now focussed on a long-term commitment to preserve and enhance the very diverse ecology that is unique to the area. To read more about this and learn about all the new trees we’re busy planting see our Ecology page.
The woodland has always been a favoured spot to get away from the outside world and to make the most of the wonders that nature has to offer. It was during the pandemic years that we were encouraged and able to act on our musings and develop the site to share with other nature loving families and friends looking for a tranquil outdoor space to come together.
We are always looking for ways to diversify the farm business and this was the perfect opportunity to combine Ed’s creativity and practical prowess and Amy’s hospitality experience. Everything on site has been hand made by Ed, with both beauty and functionality in mind. It was a massive team effort of family and friends, to whom we are all extremely grateful. The whole family muck in to keep the site running. Our season runs from April- October and the tents are taken up over winter during which time we complete land management.
‘To The Trees’
The name “To The Trees” comes from the expression we have used over the years when spending time on the family farm; someone would shout it out whenever we decided to head down To The Trees to camp, socialise and in recent years let the children run wild.
It became a special place to our family, one that we wanted to share with others. Being outdoors immersed in nature, you can’t help but slow down and enjoy real quality time. We are proud to be able to open the space for others to enjoy with their families, friends and loved ones.
